On January 19, 2026, Gov. Phil Murphy signed S4834/A6235 into law creating new requirements for E-Bikes. The State of New Jersey now requires riders (15+ years of age) to possess a valid NJ Driver’s License or Motorized Bicycle License, registration, and liability insurance coverage.
